Janice and I met when our parents had a church choir practice back in 1992, and I will never forget the Barbie sweatshirt she was wearing (it had yellow yarn as Barbie’s hair!). We became best friends that night.

We used to spend days eating mint chocolate chip ice cream cones and would spend hours building robots and tying our shoelaces together into huge knots to prevent being separated. Even after all these years, she’s my ride or die, we’re each other’s biggest advocates and I cannot imagine anyone else by my side.

Katrina and I briefly knew of each other growing up through our families, but it wasn’t until we were in high school that we really became friends. The first time we decided to hang out, we decided to meet at a point in the middle of our childhood houses - at Hillsdale high school. I’ll never forget walking up that hill and looking up to see Katrina on a RAZR scooter, scootering downhill with a sleeping bag under her arm.

Katrina was the first of my best friends to get married and I was so honored to be up there by her side. Now I’m happy to have her by mine!

jennifer leung || bridesmaid

Before Jenn knew me, she knew my voice. We met through Katrina in high school when we left her a voicemail remix of Aaron Carter’s “I Want Candy” (it was a rousing song named “I Want Boba,” thank you very much). Jenn was the first one of all of us to drive, so we wanted her to pick us up and give us a ride. Jenn and I became friends soon after and Jenn became the engineering brain to our random misadventures.

Jenn just got engaged, too! So I’m pretty excited to be going through this phase of wedding planning on a similar timeline as her. If you see her at the wedding, don’t forget to say congratulations!

We go wayyy back, like 10 year old kind of back. That’s 20 years of friendship. Oscar has been my friend through any and all situations. We played baseball, basketball, hung out, laughed, argued, worshipped, chased women, sang, dance, etc. When we link up, it’s like we have never been apart. I couldn’t ask for a better friend to help with the wedding. #SPAGO

The young gun. This dude has been my ride or die since 9th grade. He too has been with me through just about everything you can think of. Some of my best memories are with this dude sitting right next to me, now he’ll be right next to me at the most important day of my life. It’s awesome to have you in CA, boy. Watch out for this cat. #SPAGO

Emo, “Smokey the Bear.” Gettin’ it in. This dude has been my friend since we were 11, when we were both checking out the talent. Just like Oscar and Stephen, he’s been with me through it all, and I wouldn’t want it any other way. The laughs, the cries, the challenges, the FUN, it was all because you were there. I cherish our friendship and am so happy that you’ll be here at the alter. #SPAGO
